PowerPoint Don'ts

This week, we've been sharing stories and talking about the power of storytelling. Today's Fun Friday video should be all you need to convince your organization or client that they don't need Powerpoint to make their point. If you can't convince them, then at least pay close attention to these PowerPoint don'ts presented by comedian Don McMillan! Have a great weekend!

  1. Oh, I really was laughing out loud.

  2. This really should be used for ppt training.
Some of the best I've seen are simple one-word, sentence thoughts or single photographs.
    Thanks for sharing.

  3. I agree. That said, most people who watch it would not only say they've seen that presentation, but might have to admit to having given a few over the years. Scary stuff, but effective in beginning the process to change behavior.

  4. Where on earth was this presentation made? Granted, it was amusing, but the audience was carrying on like a bunch of howler monkeys.

  5. Sharon, this presentation looks as if it took place in a comedy club, but as we all know, presentations like this take place every day in the workplace. And it's no laughing matter.

  6. Oh, I agree it's no laughing matter. I used to write speeches and create the PowerPoints to accompany them in a former life, and it was very interesting trying to teach people the right way to use slides.

If this was shot in a comedy club, that would explain the howls of laughter, I suppose, as you don't usually serve liquor at corporate town halls. Hmm...maybe companies should start!
